Host sets up teams
Split the room into 2–4 teams. One player per team becomes the clue-giver each round.

A word card appears on the clue-giver's screen
Only the clue-giver sees the target word and the list of forbidden words they can't say.

Give clues without the forbidden words
Describe, gesture, anything — just don't say the forbidden words or the target word itself. The host-referee can buzz you out.

Teams score, rounds rotate
Each correct guess earns a point. Teams rotate clue-givers each round. Highest score after all rounds wins.

Teams of all sizes
Gidiwords supports 2 to 4 teams per game. No minimum team size — you can run 2v2 at a small get-together or split 15 people into 3 teams of 5 for a full group session. The host assigns teams before the game starts.

Is Gidiwords the same as Taboo?
Same core mechanic — describe a word without saying the forbidden ones. Gidiwords is our own version built for mobile group play, with categories and a host-referee flow designed for phones.
How many teams can play?
Between 2 and 4 teams per game. Teams can be any size, making Gidiwords flexible for groups of 4 up to 20.
What happens if the clue-giver says a forbidden word?
The host-referee buzzes them out. The card is skipped and the team scores nothing for that word.
